When you’re in the heart of midtown Toronto, steps away from flagship stores for high-end global brands, popular restaurants and cultural venues, the next best thing to being part of its street energy is being able to rise above it with the press of a button. You can leave it all behind and live in the serenity of the clouds in your own custom-designed sanctuary. Mizrahi Developments is a boutique firm, renowned for its passion for craftsmanship and details, those you can see and those you can’t, which create a soundproof retreat from the world, one that offers a sense of well-being and beauty. The views from here, stretching out to Lake Ontario, are unprecedented. THE ONE will be designed by Foster + Partners, one of the most innovative architectural firms in the world today, making it a memorable part of Toronto, a city that knows how to live.

This is Canada’s leading luxury marketplace, located in the busiest pedestrian and subway intersection in Toronto. With a combined total of 401, 250 subway riders per day, a 24-hour pedestrian volume of 51, 392 and a 24-hour vehicle volume of 31, 600, Yonge and Bloor is a shopping destination for people from across the city. Not only that, close to 30,000 people in high-income households live in an 800-meter radius. The site gives Mizrahi Developments maximum flexibility for the creation of a truly iconic structure with mixed-use components that will meet the demand for retail in this important neighbourhood where the vacancy rate is the lowest in the city. With underground access to Toronto’s main east-west and north-south subway lines, THE ONE will have multiple storeys of light-filled retail and commercial spaces - “jewel boxes” with walls of glass that are uninterrupted by supporting columns.

Sam Mizrahi

As President and founder of Mizrahi Developments, Sam Mizrahi is proud to bring a precedent-setting and iconic structure to One Bloor West, one of the most sought-after real estate locations in Canada. The location is integral to the history and identity of Toronto, North America's fourth largest city. From a business perspective, it is unlike any other location in Canada as approximately 400,000 subway riders pass through the intersection every day and the 24-hour pedestrian traffic is over 50,000. In recognition of this important and highly valued site, Sam worked closely with Foster + Partners, one of the most innovative architectural practices in the world, known for their game-changing structures that grace many cities around the world.

At 80 storeys, “The One” will be the tallest residential tower in Canada and will feature an iconic exoskeleton design with structural supports on the building’s exterior, allowing for maximum light and interiors free of supporting pillars.

For Sam, the process of developing The One began well before the design stage. For 114 years, One Bloor West was the site of Stollerys, the men’s clothing store. Before purchasing One Bloor West, Sam met with the owners of Stollerys constantly and gained their trust that, if One Bloor West was sold to Mizrahi Developments, Sam would lead in building something worthy of both Toronto’s past and its future.

Sam Mizrahi founded Mizrahi Developments in 2008 to execute his ambition of introducing the quality, craftsmanship and sense of permanence that a stand-alone luxury home has to the condominium market. Initially, Mizrahi Developments was focused on building custom-built, luxury homes in valuable Toronto neighborhoods, such as Forest Hill and Lytton Park. With success and growing demand for the Mizrahi brand in the luxury condominium marketplace, one of the most competitive in North America, the company moved into building mid-rise and high-rise constructions.

Along with his team at Mizrahi Developments, Sam has spearheaded the development of a number of successful boutique condominium projects, including 181 Davenport, 133 Hazelton and The One. The two Yorkville properties, 133 Hazelton and 181 Davenport, built in a heritage neighbourhood, were sold out before ground was broken, setting new sales records. Mizrahi Developments is also bringing its award-winning brand to locations outside of Toronto, including 1451 Wellington, a mid-rise condominium project located in the nation’s capital of Ottawa.

Sam Mizrahi also leads Mizrahi Design Build, an independent design-build company that offers comprehensive turnkey solutions on a range of residential and mixed-use projects. Founded in 2006 by Sam, Mizrahi Design has expertise in high-end sub-contracting and brings extensive experience with heritage neighbourhoods, zoning, innovative design and construction of the highest international standards.

Prior to leading Mizrahi Developments, Sam founded and built two successful companies. The first, Unimax, was founded by Sam when he was sixteen. The company imported and sold batteries and blank audio and video cassette tapes to independent stores in Toronto and Montreal and enjoyed roughly $18 million in annual revenue at the time Sam sold it.

Sam also founded Dove Cleaners, which he helped build into the largest luxury dry cleaning company in Canada. By 2005, Dove had earned a number of awards and distinctions in the industry. Sam then took the company public.

Outside of his career, Sam is known as an active philanthropist who is involved in a range of charitable initiatives. Sam has been a donor of The Hero Ride for Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, a charity that focuses on complex illnesses. Sam has also supported the Huron Public School arts program, as well as the Toronto Zoo, the West Park Healthcare Centre and a host of other organizations.

Sam is also an active philanthropist within the Jewish community. Sam serves on the board of Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSCC), a non-profit organization that promotes tolerance and human rights around the world. He is a member of Fisher FLIGHT in the United States, which is connected with the Jewish YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization), the Jewish Federation of North America (JFNA) and the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation and is committed to exploring transformative Jewish philanthropy. On a charitable basis, Sam also served as a main builder behind the development of Temmy Latner Forest Hill Jewish Centre ( in Toronto’s Forest Hill neighborhood. The Centre now serves as a community resource providing educational facilities, such as lecture halls and event venues, daycare and other community-building programs.
